A good field of twenty-three meant two flights with the cut fixed at 15.9.  Scoring overall was on the low side with many failing to break thirty points.

In the A flight the big hitting Phil Mashiter took the win today with thirty-three points while Keith Norman was second a stroke back, beating Stuart Brown on count back.

Richard Baldotto took first place in the B flight with thirty-three points, beating Gerry Cooney into second place on thirty-two, and in third place with thirty-one was the burly Neil Jones.

Preparations are well underway to host the annual “Memorial Golf Day” which is scheduled for February seventh at the Khao Kheow club to honor the memory of all golfers no longer with us.  Those wishing to participate should enter a team and sign up at the M Club.  A great day of golf followed by a night of fun at the Robin Hood is assured.

Pattaya awoke to thunder and heavy rain which persisted into the morning and was most likely the reason why only seventeen presented at the M Club for play at Bangkapong.  Rain was still falling when we arrived at the course, but the clouds soon broke and play commenced.  The course was sodden so the ‘lift, clean, and place’ rule was applied.

The winner on the day was Richard Baldotto with a net sixty-eight, Richard going back to back having won on Monday.  Second was Michael Brett with a net sixty-nine, third went to Neil Jones on seventy and Ken Davidson brought up the rear with net seventy-two.

Near pins went to Bob Cowell and three to Neil Carter.  One might reasonably ask where was Neil on the fourth par-3?  Well to everyone’s surprise he ran up a score of nine on that hole.

We had a good field of twenty-two for the last game of the week at Treasure Hill.  The course was in excellent condition but a strong wind made it difficult to score well.  Worse was the speed of play which was ultra slow so frustration was everywhere and a late finish was the result.

Richard Baldotto, going for three in a row, was favourite to take the honors but in this instance he came crashing back to earth and finished last.  In A flight Colin Greig took first place with thirty-three points from Peter Kelly on count back, with brother Eddie Kelly in third with thirty-two.

In B flight club champion Ken Davidson took first again with thirty-three points, followed by Peter Allen on thirty and Mike Mills on twenty-seven.
