PSC Golf from The Golf Club

Monday, Sept. 7, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford

1st Geoff Hibbert (10) 37pts

T2nd Andy Makara (26) 36pts

T2nd Andy Piazza (20) 36pts

First off, this is your last chance to sign up for our Kabinburi Road Trip on the 24th Sept. for a one-nighter and 2 green fees, so drop by TGC or call us to sign up.  It is just a 2 hour drive to the hotel and the course is in superb condition.  Ladies and families are welcome.

I am usually singing the praises about the condition of Green Valley, but times are dry out here and we have seen this course in much better shape.  The greens were still lightly sanded Monday but rolled fairly true.

Ben Denham.Ben Denham.

Visiting Geoff Hibbert showed the lads how it was done out there and 37 was the magic number.  We had a fine pair of Andy’s with us and they not only shared the name but the score as well… 36 apiece to split second place on the podium.

Wednesday, Sept. 9, The Emerald (white tees) – Stableford

T1st Ben Denham (3) 36pts

T1st Robbie Taylor (13) 36pts

3rd David Outhred (18) 35pts

I was happy to see smiling faces getting off the bus back to TGC after a round at the Emerald.  All had good things to say about the condition of the course and the layout is always enjoyable.  We had not played there for several months, which is a shame. I will get this track back on our schedule as the signup sheet was full and the happy campers want to go back.  The weather was fantastic as well as we continued to dodge the bullets of the rainy season.

Most golfers remark on how beautiful the collection of par-3’s are at this course and I would certainly agree.  How much input Sir Nick Faldo put into this track is dubious, but it sure is a great layout nonetheless.

Ben Denham continued on his roll, but today he had to share the top spot with Robbie Taylor.  Both did well to post 36’s out there and we saw David Outhred just miss out with his 35 for third.

Friday, Sept. 11, Pattavia (white tees) – Stableford

1st Alan Cole (13) 39pts

2nd Ben Denham (3) 38pts

3rd Phil Smedley (10) 36pts

Another full sheet of golfers brought 24 of us together for our visit to Pattavia.  Winding through the calming pineapple groves, those overcast skies assured us a cool day of golf was ahead.  It was absolutely perfect weather and the course was also in great shape for yet another round of millionaire’s golf.  The greens here did not let us down, fast and true, but some of the lads had them sussed and some good scores were posted today.

This is not an easy track to score on, but our podium tally had everyone shooting their handicap at the very least.  Capt. Phil, who has been playing pretty well lately, got just enough for third place.  The steady Ben Denham shot another rock solid 38 for second but a visiting Yank called Alan Cole had other ideas.  Great golf Alan, getting 39 points out here is a feather in your cap.

Thanks to all who joined us for a great week of golf in Pattaya, the home of golf in Thailand!
