Monday 29th June Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club Stableford

Phoenix and we thought we were going to get around before the rain. Wrong, it rained on our groups after we started the second nine and continued for the rest of the day. Just annoying rain nonstop but not heavy.

The course was in great condition with greens quite fast but the fairways were magnificent. Impossible to get a bad lie. This stopping after nine holes for a bite to eat is very civilized. Sit for 5 minutes to wait for your satays and have a pint of Guinness and off you go for the next nine.

It was tough going out there Monday, even with the course in such good condition. The air was heavy and you really had to pick your club with care.

The scoring was quite funny as there was not one player to score over 30 points, in fact there was count back for the prizes all on 30 points. Gerard Lambert missed out altogether his good friend Thiery Temime took 3rd place with 30 points.

Thiery Petrement took 2nd and Captain Cripple took the top spot thanks to his 19 points on the back nine. There were no twos recorded.
