The Head of Secondary School Music at Regents International School Pattaya, Ms. Emily Andrews has been given the huge honor to travel to New York to work with experts at the Juilliard School to formulate a curriculum for performing arts that will be unique to the 35 Nord Anglia Education institutions around the globe – including Regents.

The sessions will take place at the world-renowned Julliard conservatory – widely regarded as one of the world’s leading music schools, with some of the most prestigious arts programs.

Principal Iain Blaikie is excited at the opportunities that this new collaboration will create. “Along with Nord Anglia Education we aim to be the premium provider of performing arts schooling and an obvious choice for parents of gifted performers. We will now have direct connections with the Juilliard network, which is fantastic. Many thanks must go to the hard work and aspirations of our Music Department, particularly Ms. Emily Andrews and the school’s leadership.”

Ms. Andrews’ visit to the Big Apple is just the tip of the iceberg for Regents International School Pattaya in regards to the burgeoning performing arts department at Regents. Of the 35 Nord Anglia Schools, only four of them will be represented at this workshop and Regents is one of them.

“The chance to be given several days to work with colleagues from other international schools, co-developing a music curriculum is rare enough. The opportunity to also work with and learn from representatives from the Nord Anglia Education team and Julliard experts in New York, co-developing a curriculum, is a dream come true,” said Ms. Andrews.

It is a testament to Regents’ and Nord Anglia Education’s dedication to the arts that such an opportunity is possible and students will no doubt be better for it. Already blessed with a number fine music, arts and drama teachers, the new curriculum will take it a step further.

“Our aim is to be the number one choice for the performing arts on the Eastern Seaboard and indeed, all of Thailand,” said Principal Iain Blaikie.
