BANGKOK, Thailand – A wooden house extension collapsed in Phahonyothin Soi 56 on Sunday afternoon, leaving one man injured and requiring rescuers to assess the unstable structure before removing him to hospital. The incident was reported at 2:56 p.m. on September 6, prompting firefighters and rescue personnel from Bang Khen Fire and Rescue Station to rush to the scene in Sai Mai district. Officials found that part of a single-storey wooden house had collapsed. The damaged section was an extension added to the main structure.
One man was injured in the collapse and received first aid from volunteers before being taken to B.Care Medical Center for further treatment. Rescue teams worked to secure the area and assess the condition of the remaining structure before officials from Sai Mai District Office arrived to inspect the property and determine what action was required.
A separate report from the scene said the collapsed section was a wooden sitting area extending toward Khlong Song. A bedridden man was among those affected, with rescuers having to work carefully because part of the structure had fallen toward the water and remained at risk of further collapse. Authorities are continuing to inspect the property and determine the cause of the collapse and the extent of the damage.
