Two Nigerian men were arrested by Chonburi Immigration Police after officers allegedly found about six grams of cocaine hidden inside a kitchen extractor hood at a Pattaya condominium.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Chonburi Immigration Police arrested two Nigerian men during a search of a condominium in central Pattaya on October 9, seizing about six grams of cocaine allegedly hidden inside a kitchen extractor hood. Officers inspected the condominium after receiving information that Nigerian nationals were staying there and that one might be residing in Thailand illegally and involved in drug-related activity. They found two Nigerian men. Initial checks indicated that one was staying in Thailand illegally, while the other had entered the country on a tourist visa.

After searching the room for more than 20 minutes, officers discovered five small packages containing cocaine, wrapped in black adhesive tape and concealed inside the kitchen extractor hood. The total weight was approximately six grams. A preliminary urine test reportedly detected drugs in one man’s system. During initial questioning, both men reportedly said they had obtained the cocaine from an acquaintance on Walking Street in Pattaya. They claimed they had not yet paid for it and intended to use it themselves rather than sell it. The two men were taken to Pattaya City Police Station for further legal proceedings. Investigators are continuing to establish the source of the cocaine and whether others were involved.
