PATTAYA, Thailand – Immigration police in Chonburi conducted coordinated inspections of businesses in Pattaya after receiving social media intelligence regarding suspected illegal foreign labor, resulting in the arrest of two foreign nationals. On June 27, at around 7.30 p.m., officers carried out the operation under the direction of senior immigration officials and investigative teams. The operation targeted two premises, VIP Barber Shop and Smart Cutz Shop, Soi Yensabai in South Pattaya. Following inspections, officers detained two individuals found to be in violation of immigration and labor laws.

The first suspect, a 47-year-old Turkish national, was charged with working without a permit or outside permitted conditions under Thailand’s Foreign Workers Management Emergency Decree B.E. 2560. The second suspect, a 25-year-old Pakistani national, was charged with working outside permitted conditions and overstaying his visa by three days. Both individuals were taken into custody and transferred to Pattaya City Police Station for further legal proceedings. Immigration authorities said the operation reflects ongoing enforcement efforts to ensure compliance with Thai labour and immigration laws, particularly in tourist-heavy areas such as Pattaya, to maintain order and public confidence.
