A massive tree brought down in a thunderstorm smashed cars and damaged homes, but injured no one in East Pattaya.
Residents of Soi Boonsamphan 5 called for help May 17 after the tree came crashing down on their roofs around 3 a.m.
The Nongprue Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department sent workers to street off Soi Khao Noi with saws and machinery to help the residents. The big tree was cut into short pieces and taken away.
Warnings were given to other residents that have large trees near their houses, urging them to contact the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department to prune branches and cut trees back to a height equal or lower than homes.
