The Thai government launches a nationwide campaign offering a 300-baht discount for air conditioner cleaning to encourage energy savings and reduce electricity use amid global energy uncertainties.

PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai government is inviting the public to register for the “Clean Your Air Conditioner for the Nation” campaign, offering a 300-baht discount on air conditioner cleaning services, with 30,000 rights available nationwide.

Airin Phanruth, deputy government spokesperson at the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, said the initiative is part of the government’s efforts to ease public hardship amid global energy uncertainties linked to tensions in the Middle East.

The program is being organized by the Ministry of Energy of Thailand in cooperation with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand and private-sector partners, including department stores and online service providers.

Under the campaign, participants will receive a 300-baht discount for air conditioner cleaning, limited to 30,000 registrations, as well as 15,000 additional discounts for energy-efficient products carrying Thailand’s No.5 energy-saving label.

Officials believe the initiative will help reduce electricity consumption and lower carbon dioxide emissions by encouraging households to maintain appliances more efficiently.

Registration is open from March 25 to May 23, 2026, through participating department stores and online platforms. Applicants must prepare the following documents:

  • A Thai national ID card
  • One electricity bill from 2026 showing the customer number

The discount cannot be transferred to others or exchanged for cash.

Airin explained that regular air conditioner cleaning improves efficiency, reduces electricity use, and helps households save on power bills in the long run, supporting the government’s energy-saving policy. (TNA)
