A mother of six was arrested for allegedly helping her brother deal drugs in Takhiantia.

Banglamung defense chief Prapan Pratumchompoo led a squad of soldiers to a house on Soi 17 in the sub-district July 18, sending in undercover operatives to purchase drugs before storming the house.

Homeowner Ratchaporn Tongsaprang, 40, acted nervous as soldiers searched the home, then went into a bedroom and brought back a bag of 30 methamphetamine tablets which she gave to authorities.

She reportedly said the drugs were given to her to hold by her brother two days earlier. She denied selling drugs, although she admitted she used to be a dealer before promising her children she’d stop.

Her 16-year-old son also was arrested when he was caught smoking ya ba in the backyard.

Ratchaporn was taken away in handcuffs amid the tears of her young and teenage children, who now will be looked after by their grandparents.
