Pattaya workers fixed damaged drainage grates on Sukhumvit Road to prevent accidents.
Engineers descended on the busy highway near the tunnel construction site June 17 following complaints about the drain covers causing accidents.
The four grates, measuring 3.75 sq. meters, all were damaged on the edges where they connect to the drains. Workers blocked off the road then welded the edges to prevent them from moving.
Workers agreed that, unrepaired, the loose covers posed a safety risk, particularly to motorcyclists.
