PATTAYA, Thailand – Residents and tourists in Pattaya are being advised to stay alert as the Thai Meteorological Department warns of summer storms affecting much of upper Thailand between April 23 and 25.
The weather system is expected to bring thunderstorms, strong winds, lightning, and isolated hail to several regions, beginning with the North, Northeast, and East before moving toward the Central Plains, including Bangkok and surrounding provinces.
While Pattaya and other parts of Chonburi may not be among the first areas hit, local weather conditions could become unstable later in the period as the storm system expands across the country. The warning comes as much of Thailand continues to experience intense heat, creating conditions favorable for sudden summer storms.
Officials are urging people in Pattaya to avoid open spaces during storms and stay away from large trees, unstable structures, and roadside billboards that could collapse in strong winds. Beachgoers and those spending time outdoors are also advised to monitor weather updates closely, especially if dark clouds and gusty winds develop.
Farmers in surrounding areas have been advised to protect crops, fruit trees, and livestock from possible storm damage. Residents are also encouraged to take care of their health as temperatures and weather conditions continue to shift rapidly across the region.
The unstable weather pattern follows several days of intense heat in Pattaya, where high temperatures have continued to draw beach crowds despite occasional cloud cover and isolated rain showers.
