PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is calling — but before you pack your swimsuit and sunscreen, you might want to throw in a raincoat too.
As Thailand’s beach city continues to charm long-term visitors and weekend wanderers alike, the Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory for the eastern region, including Chonburi Province, warning of isolated heavy rain and thunderstorms in the coming days. While the sun still shines on Pattaya’s famous beaches and buzzing nightlife, the skies are expected to turn moody at times, especially from June 7–11.
Driven by a moderate southwest monsoon and a shifting monsoon trough, the upcoming weather pattern may bring intense rainfall, strong winds, and rough seas—with wave heights in the Gulf of Thailand reaching up to 2 meters, and even higher during thunderstorms.
For tourists and locals planning island trips or water activities, officials urge caution. Boaters and ferry operators are advised to monitor marine warnings and avoid venturing out during stormy conditions. On land, flash floods and slippery roads could affect low-lying and hillside areas.
Despite the weather watch, Pattaya remains active, with cafes humming, street markets thriving, and major events on the horizon — including the return of Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2026 next year. Even under dark clouds, the city never quite stops shining.
So yes, Pattaya is calling — just be sure to check the radar before answering.
