Pattaya taught social workers, community leaders and students how to spot and report human traffickers at a July 12 seminar.

Deputy Mayor Vichien Pongpanit opened the training session for 150 government workers and members of private-sector organizations and schools.

Pol. Col. Chaowalit Ketsrimek related his experiences in investigating human-trafficking and missing-persons cases and explained how traffickers work and indicators to look for.

Speakers also briefed the crowd on the human-trafficking problem across the country and efforts to combat it. They also educated attendees on relevant laws and penalties.
