PATTAYA, Thailand – Russian tourists continue to be among the most visible international visitors in Pattaya, with many not only vacationing in the city but also adapting closely to local daily life during extended stays.

Rather than focusing only on typical holiday activities, a growing number of Russian visitors are seen living in residential areas, shopping at local markets, and building routines similar to long-term residents. From fresh markets to neighborhood grocery shops, many integrate into everyday Thai urban life with ease.

Food culture is one of the strongest points of connection. Many Russian visitors are frequently seen exploring Thai cuisine while also purchasing fresh tropical fruits such as mangoes, pineapple, and coconut, which are widely appreciated for their freshness and variety compared to what is available in colder climates.

Local vendors say this group of visitors often prefers market-style shopping, where they can select fresh produce directly and engage in simple daily interactions. Over time, some develop familiarity with regular stalls and return to the same sellers, reflecting a more settled lifestyle pattern rather than short-term tourism behavior.

This blending of routines highlights Pattaya’s broader identity as a city where different nationalities live side by side, with many long-stay visitors adapting to local customs while still maintaining elements of their own culture.
