A Honda City was left heavily damaged after striking the rear of an 18-wheel trailer parked on the motorway frontage road.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A factory worker was seriously injured after his sedan crashed into the rear of an 18-wheel trailer in East Pattaya early on July 15. The accident happened at around 1:10 a.m. on the motorway frontage road near Ton Krarok Bridge in Takhian Tia, Banglamung, Chonburi. The Sawang Boriboon received a report that a driver was trapped inside a badly damaged vehicle following the collision. Rescue teams, equipped with hydraulic cutting tools, along with medical staff from Pattaya Bhattamakun Hospital, rushed to the scene.

They found a silver Honda City sedan registered in Chonburi had slammed into the rear of an 18-wheel trailer. The impact crushed the front of the car, trapping the driver inside as the dashboard collapsed around him. Rescue workers used cutting equipment to remove the damaged structure and free the driver, identified as 45-year-old Komsub Thandee, a factory employee. He suffered serious injuries and received first aid before being urgently transported to hospital.  A witness driving past the area said the sedan had already collided with the trailer when he arrived. He immediately contacted rescue workers and police, then woke the trailer driver, who was resting inside the vehicle, to inform him of the crash.

The trailer driver, 30-year-old Natcha Donmee, told police that he had parked the truck on the roadside while waiting for time to travel to Laem Chabang Port to collect goods. He said he was resting inside the cabin when a passer-by alerted him that a car had crashed into the back of his trailer. He came down to check and found the sedan driver trapped inside the wreckage, before calling emergency services for assistance. Police recorded evidence at the scene and collected witness statements to determine the exact cause of the crash before proceeding with further legal action.
