Rehabilitating addicts at Royal Thai Navy rehabilitation center made themselves part of the cremation for HM the late King by creating 9,999 artificial flowers for the October ceremony.

Capt. Thadawuth Tatpitakkul, commander of the Naval Recruit Training Center, joined military and government officers and drug users sentenced to rehab at Wiwat Polamuang School to create the wood-pulp daffodils July 12.

The Sub-district and Village Headman’s Club, led by Radjai Banditsilp, Sattahip’s headwoman, showed the 195 people present how to craft the “flowers of love” called “dararath” in Thai.

Thadawuth said everyone gathered to make the flowers in respect to HM the Late King Bhumibol. He said the participants also will gain a valuable skill that could help them earn extra money in the future.
