
PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City Police Station would like to inform the public and business operators that the sale of all alcoholic beverages will be strictly prohibited on Sunday May 11, in observance of Visakha Bucha Day, an important Buddhist holiday.
This prohibition is in accordance with Thai law, which designates religious holidays as alcohol-free days nationwide to promote respectful observance.
Violators will face legal penalties, including a maximum fine of 10,000 baht and/or imprisonment for up to 6 months, under the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act B.E. 2551 (2008).
Police officers will be conducting inspections across Pattaya to ensure full compliance. The cooperation of residents, tourists, and business owners is kindly requested in respecting this regulation and supporting the cultural and spiritual significance of the day.
