Pattaya sanitation workers dug into a smelly problem on Pratamnak Soi 4, cleaning out drainage tunnels after complaints from residents.
The five-man crew used a vacuum truck to suck out sewage and garbage Nov. 14, working down the soi lifting off manhole covers and using spades to dig up contaminated mud.
It took several hours before the workers were able to get to the bottom of the sewage where they found a lot of rubbish clogging the outlets.
The problem had been running for some time and was caused by trash blocking the outlet. Recent flooding caused the pipeline to overflow, exacerbating the odor issue.
