The Provincial Electricity Authority relocated two utility poles that somehow ended up in the middle of the street.

The PEA is blaming Nongprue Sub-district for the embarrassing situation, which was publicized on social media around the country. The utility said the sub-district two years ago put in a new concrete road without informing the company.

Once the paving was done, two poles stood in the middle of the street near the Mapto Intersection with Pattanakarn Road in Moo 13 village. Residents have been complaining ever since.

Oops. After two years of complaints and finger pointing, PEA workers finally made it out to remove these utility poles that ended up literally in the middle of the street.Oops.  After two years of complaints and finger pointing, PEA workers finally made it out to remove these utility poles that ended up literally in the middle of the street.

Finally on Sept. 7 trucks and workers came out and pulled the poles and put them on the side of the road where they belong.

Crew member Suprasit Ditapong said the road used to be gravel and approximately four meters wide before Nongprue expanded it to six meters wide and paved it.

Rather than contact and wait for the PEA to move the poles, the government workers simply took the easy option and paved around them.
