PATTAYA, Thailand – Police and local authorities inspected entertainment-style establishments in east Pattaya, on August 7 under the “Five Safe” campaign aimed at keeping venues and surrounding communities safe. Huai Yai Police Station officers joined Banglamung district officials in conducting inspections and searches of establishments operating in a similar manner to licensed entertainment venues. The “Five Safe” measures require venues to be free from five key risks: children, drugs, weapons, human trafficking and threats to public safety.
Officers checked compliance with relevant laws and reminded operators and managers to remain vigilant against drug activity and human trafficking. Authorities also checked the sale and provision of shisha and electronic cigarettes and reminded businesses to close within legally permitted operating hours. The inspection found no violations. Officers reported no underage customers, no evidence of drug use or other illegal activity, and no other offences. Police Region 2 said inspections will continue to strengthen public confidence, maintain public order and ensure entertainment establishments remain safe places for everyone.
