A police officer dressed as Santa Claus handed out lollipops as authorities made a public-relations visit to Walking Street.
Pattaya Deputy Mayor Poramet Ngampichet and the head of local Tourist and Immigration police stations toured the nightlife strip with officers Dec. 24 to reassure tourists as to their safety.
Poramet said it was important to reinforce safety precautions during the high season, so officers checked various venues and side-streets to ensure everything was in order.
