Nearly 3,000 current and former Photisampan Pittayakarn students, staff and Pattaya-area residents joined in formation to create a message “to be seen in heaven” for HM the late King.

The 2,800 participants were split into two groups Nov. 2, with those in black forming the Thai numeral 9 for King Rama IX, while those in white formed a heart.

Principal Somcak Duangcharoen said it was an emotional yet exciting day as so many people came together for the occasion.

Former and current students, along with former and current teachers, united as one before deciding to form the number nine as a message to heaven to show that the people of Thailand are uniting to express their loyalty to the late monarch.
