PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand’s Meteorological Department has forecast cool to cold conditions across the upper parts of the country, with dense fog in some areas, as a weakening cold air mass continues to cover upper Thailand. In Pattaya and surrounding parts of Chonburi, residents are being advised to take extra care while travelling due to morning fog and a slight chance of thunderstorms.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast, the eastern region, including Pattaya, will experience cool weather in the early morning with fog and dense fog in some locations. Isolated thunderstorms are expected in about 10 percent of the area, mainly in Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Temperatures are forecast to range from a low of 21–24°C to a high of 29–36°C.

The Meteorological Department said the conditions are influenced by a weakening high-pressure system over upper Thailand, while southeasterly winds are bringing moisture into the lower central and eastern regions. Authorities have urged motorists in Pattaya and nearby areas to exercise caution, particularly along highways and coastal roads where visibility may be reduced by fog.

Sea conditions off Pattaya remain generally moderate, with waves below one metre close to shore and around one metre offshore. However, waves may exceed one metre in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Small boat operators are advised to remain vigilant.

Across upper Thailand, dust and haze accumulation remains at moderate to relatively high levels due to weak air ventilation, while the public has been advised to take care of their health amid changing weather conditions and to remain alert to fire hazards during the dry period.
