PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City officials have stepped up patrols along Pattaya Beach, reminding visitors that while everyone is welcome to bring their own beach mats, chairs and umbrellas for personal use, using public beaches as a commercial rental business is prohibited. Municipal enforcement officers, together with the city’s special operations unit, continue regular inspections to prevent unauthorized operators from occupying public space with rental mats and chairs. Equipment found being used for illegal rental businesses may be confiscated, with offenders subject to fines under local regulations.
The city stressed that the measures are intended to keep Pattaya Beach open, orderly and accessible for everyone, preventing sections of the beach from being taken over for private commercial gain.
Officials also reminded beachgoers to help preserve the relaxed atmosphere by following local rules. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the beach responsibly by bringing their own mats or chairs if they wish, but should avoid excessive noise, setting off fireworks, smoking in prohibited areas, or engaging in activities that disturb other beach users. Pattaya City says regular enforcement will continue as part of efforts to maintain clean, safe and welcoming beaches for both residents and the millions of tourists who visit each year.
