PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City is reviewing traffic management plans for future editions of the Amazing Thailand Pattaya Marathon after assessing this year’s event, with a focus on reducing disruption for residents, motorists and local businesses. Deputy Mayor Krisana Boonsawat presented the results of the 33rd Amazing Thailand Pattaya Marathon 2026 presented by MAMA during a meeting of the city’s working group on tourism, sports, culture and corporate image.
He said organizers had adjusted traffic arrangements this year to make it easier for cars and motorcycles to pass through affected areas. Road obstructions were reduced, while traffic officers and barrier staff were instructed to keep routes open for motorcycles and ambulances wherever possible.
The measures aimed to improve traffic flow and limit inconvenience for people living and working in the city during the running event. Pattaya plans to refine the arrangements further for the next marathon, seeking to minimize traffic disruption while continuing to use major sporting events to promote tourism and support the local economy.
The city also intends to gather feedback from residents and the private sector, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of this year’s arrangements before deciding what changes are needed.
Officials said the review would help tailor future event management to Pattaya’s needs as a major tourist destination, where large public events must be balanced with everyday travel, business operations and emergency access.
