PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City is preparing fire safety training and emergency evacuation exercises for the Soi 6 (Yodsak) entertainment district on October 28–29, aiming to improve preparedness and protect tourists, businesses and nearby communities.
Deputy Mayor Wuthisak Rermkijakarn chaired a planning meeting on October 21 at Pattaya City Hall, attended by city council representatives, relevant officials and community leaders. The meeting followed earlier discussions between Pattaya City and Banglamung district on July 27 to improve safety standards in the busy entertainment area.
The training, organized by Pattaya’s Public Health and Environment Office, will cover how to report a fire, use initial firefighting equipment and evacuate people safely from potentially dangerous areas.
The program will take place over two days. On October 28, officials will conduct a tabletop exercise at the Thappraya Meeting Room at Pattaya City Hall to review procedures and coordination among relevant agencies.

On October 29, a full-scale exercise will include a demonstration of basic firefighting at Runway Market, followed by a simulated fire and evacuation drill at 6th Sense, Building A1, in Soi 6.
Wuthisak called on relevant agencies to publicise the schedule and any traffic closures in advance through all available communication channels. He also urged officials to coordinate with businesses and nearby hotels to ensure residents and visitors understand that the activities are planned exercises and avoid unnecessary alarm.
Pattaya City said the initiative aims to improve emergency readiness, reduce potential loss of life and property, and build confidence in safety arrangements in one of the city’s popular entertainment areas.
