PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya pedestrians will soon have relief from the hot sun when crossing the city’s busy roads, mainly on Sukhumvit Road, with construction underway to install covered roofs on all nine pedestrian overpasses across the city. The project is currently progressing, with crews installing roof structures over the footbridges. Once the roofing work is completed, construction will move on to the bridge flooring, ceilings and final decorative touches.
The covered footbridges are intended to make crossing the road more comfortable for pedestrians, particularly during Pattaya’s hot and sunny weather. The improvements will provide shade along the crossings while giving the footbridges a refreshed appearance. Work will continue until all remaining construction and finishing details are completed. Once finished, the nine covered pedestrian overpasses will offer Pattaya residents and visitors a cooler and more comfortable way to cross some of the city’s busiest roads.
