Mayor Poramet Ngampichet has accelerated the procurement process for the installation of lighting in the Central Pattaya-Sukhumvit Road underpass, moving the timeline up by 60 days from the original announcement.

As of May 19, 2023, the application for approval to purchase 550 units of “ready-to-install electrical materials” is currently in the procurement process. The earliest possible date for entering into a procurement contract, in accordance with government regulations, is now June 15, 2023.

Towards the end of 2022, Pattaya City had already replaced 100 damaged lamps. In the fiscal 2023year, an additional 550 lights were purchased to replace the remaining old ones that had not been fixed during the previous replacement efforts. With the appointment of a contractor, Mayor Poramet Ngampichet has emphasized the importance of expediting the installation process to ensure completion as early as possible.
