Jomtien Beach sees choppy seas and strong winds amid a scorching heatwave, as officials urge tourists to stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and carry water bottles while enjoying Pattaya’s holiday season.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is currently experiencing a heatwave combined with gusty coastal winds, as the city prepares for the peak Songkran holiday period and school vacation season.

Temperatures remain high throughout the day, with humid conditions making the heat feel even more intense. Occasional strong sea breezes are also affecting coastal areas, adding to unstable beach and sea conditions.

Authorities have urged both residents and tourists to take precautions, including staying hydrated, carrying water bottles, and using sunscreen regularly, especially during prolonged outdoor activities. Visitors are also advised to avoid direct sun exposure during midday hours and to plan beach trips in the early morning or late afternoon.

The timing of the weather coincides with a sharp rise in domestic and international visitors, increasing the importance of public safety awareness across key tourist zones during the holiday season.

At the same time, stronger winds have led to choppier seas in some areas, prompting lifeguards to closely monitor swimming conditions and remind visitors to exercise caution while entering the water.

At Jomtien Beach, officials issued a clear safety advisory for beachgoers:

“Jomtien Beach!! Strong winds and waves. Tourists are advised to swim with caution…”

Visitors are strongly encouraged to swim only in designated safe zones, follow lifeguard instructions, and ensure children are closely supervised while enjoying beach activities during the holiday period.
