Pattaya faces unstable weather with heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas expected as regional systems, including Tropical Storm Maysak’s outer influence, disrupt conditions across the Gulf of Thailand.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is expected to experience unstable weather conditions in the coming days, with forecasters warning of heavy rain, strong winds, and rough sea conditions as a tropical system over the South China Sea influences regional weather patterns. While Tropical Storm Maysak is tracking toward Hainan Island and northern Vietnam, meteorologists say its broader circulation, combined with the seasonal monsoon trough, is contributing to increased atmospheric instability across parts of Southeast Asia, including the Gulf of Thailand. As a result, Pattaya and surrounding coastal areas in Chonburi province may see sudden and intense downpours, particularly during late afternoon and nighttime hours. Authorities warn that rainfall could be heavy in short bursts, raising the risk of localized flooding in low-lying urban zones and along drainage-prone roads.

Sea conditions in the upper Gulf are also expected to turn rough, with stronger winds and higher waves affecting small fishing vessels and marine tourism operations. Boat operators and beach activity providers have been advised to monitor weather updates closely and avoid sailing during periods of poor visibility or strong gusts. Although Maysak’s main impact zone remains far north near Vietnam and southern China, its indirect influence on regional weather patterns is expected to contribute to unsettled conditions across Thailand’s eastern coastline over the next few days.

Authorities continue to monitor the evolving situation and advise the public to stay alert for further weather advisories.
