PATTAYA, Thailand – While several provinces across Thailand face heavy rain and warnings of flash floods, Pattaya and much of Chonburi province remain largely unaffected by the monsoon downpours.
The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for areas particularly at risk, including Tak, Chanthaburi, and Trat, where accumulated rainfall could trigger flash floods and mountain runoff. Other regions reporting heavy rain include Northern provinces like Kamphaeng Phet and Phetchabun, northeastern areas including Nakhon Ratchasima and Ubon Ratchathani, and parts of central and eastern Thailand.
Monsoon winds from the southwest continue to affect the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, generating waves of 1–2 meters in coastal areas, with higher waves in regions experiencing thunderstorms. Residents and fishermen in affected provinces are urged to exercise caution.
Despite the widespread rain in much of Thailand, Pattaya has experienced only occasional light showers, sparing the city from flooding and major disruptions. The relatively dry weather provides a window for tourism and outdoor activities as other parts of the country contend with heavy rains and flood risks.
