PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard woke to cool morning temperatures today, with scattered light showers expected throughout the area. The cool conditions are driven by a moderate high-pressure system from China extending over upper Thailand and the South China Sea.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is possible in parts of Chonburi, including Pattaya, along with Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Morning temperatures in Pattaya range between 23–24°C, rising to 30–31°C during the day.
Sea conditions remain somewhat rough. Waves in the Gulf off Pattaya are around 1 meter high nearshore, increasing to 1–2 meters farther out. In areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 2 meters. Marine operators, tour boats, and small vessels are advised to proceed with caution and avoid sailing during periods of heavy cloud and rain.
Tourist activities across Pattaya continue as usual, though drivers are advised to watch for slippery roads and reduced visibility in some areas, especially during early morning hours or passing showers.
Upper Thailand continues to experience cool morning weather, while the South faces increasing rainfall and isolated heavy showers, particularly in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, and Songkhla.
Authorities urge residents and visitors in coastal zones to stay updated on weather forecasts throughout the week.
