Road marking begins on the upgraded railway parallel road in Pattaya on May 2, as residents welcome smoother surfaces but raise concerns over dust during construction.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya has announced progress in the improvement of the western railway parallel road along Chaiyaphornvithi Road, with traffic line markings scheduled to begin on May 2.

The project is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade road surfaces and improve traffic flow in outer areas of the city, particularly for residents who rely on the route for daily commuting.

City officials said the resurfacing work has now reached a stage where road markings can be added, signaling that the project is nearing completion and will soon be fully operational for motorists.

Public reaction has been mixed. Some residents expressed appreciation for the improvements, noting that smoother roads have helped enhance quality of life for those living outside central Pattaya.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution along the newly resurfaced railway parallel road in Pattaya as fresh lane markings are applied and work continues.

“Thank you to the Pattaya City administrators for making the road smooth for us. It really improves the quality of life for people in suburban areas, not just those in the city center,” one resident commented.

However, others raised concerns about ongoing inconvenience during construction, particularly dust and disruptions.

“Right now it’s very difficult. There’s a lot of dust,” another resident said, reflecting frustration among those affected by the works.

Authorities have not specified a final completion date but indicated that work is progressing steadily, with further improvements expected in the coming weeks.
