PATTAYA, Thailand – After days of unpredictable tropical weather, Pattaya is seeing a welcome change with fewer widespread rainy periods, creating better conditions for families and visitors planning beach outings. However, the tropical climate still has a few surprises, and thunderstorms remain possible. The Meteorological Department reported that Thailand will experience less rainfall this week as the southwest monsoon affecting the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand has weakened. While the skies may appear brighter, scattered thunderstorms can still develop quickly, turning a sunny beach day into a short tropical shower.
For the eastern region, including Chonburi, thunderstorms are forecast in around 20% of the area. Temperatures in Pattaya and nearby coastal areas are expected to remain warm, ranging from 25–27°C in the morning to highs of 33–37°C during the day — conditions that can be comfortable for visitors looking to explore the beach, enjoy outdoor activities, or spend time with family by the sea. Along Pattaya’s coastline, southwest winds will reach 15–35 kilometers per hour, with waves in the upper Gulf of Thailand reaching 1–2 meters. During thunderstorms, waves may rise above 2 meters, creating rougher conditions for smaller boats and water activities.
Beach visitors, jet ski operators, fishermen, and boat users are advised to take extra care when storms approach. Families heading to the beach should still check weather updates, especially before swimming or joining sea activities. For tourists, the forecast brings a welcome balance — warm days, fewer rainy interruptions, and more opportunities to enjoy Pattaya’s coastline. But during the rainy season, the best beach plans still come with one simple rule: enjoy the sunshine, but keep an eye on the clouds.
