PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City has launched an operation to organize public areas along Pattaya Beach while providing assistance to vulnerable people as part of efforts to maintain a safe and welcoming tourism environment. On July 22, Deputy Mayor Damrongkiat Phinitkan, together with city officials, representatives from the Chonburi Provincial Protection and Quality of Life Promotion Centre, Pattaya Social Welfare Office staff and administrative officers, led a field operation along Pattaya Beach. The operation focused on identifying people living without support and connecting them with appropriate government assistance, while also improving public order in one of the city’s most important tourist areas.
During the inspection, officials identified 14 people considered vulnerable or without proper support, including seven repeat cases. Nine people were taken to the protection center for assistance, while five were helped to return to their hometowns. Damrongkiat said Pattaya City remains committed to improving the quality of life for all groups, especially vulnerable people, while ensuring that public spaces remain safe, clean and organized. He said the operation was not only about managing public areas but also about providing assistance and helping people facing difficulties reconnect with government support systems in a sustainable way. Pattaya City said it will continue working with relevant agencies to address social issues while maintaining the city’s image as a quality tourism destination.
