PATTAYA, Thailand – The Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for parts of southern Thailand, forecasting heavy rain in provinces such as Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, and Phang Nga. Meanwhile, the upper North and Northeast will experience cool morning temperatures as a moderate high-pressure system from China extends over the region.

In contrast, Pattaya and the eastern coast are expected to see mostly cloudy skies with only isolated showers — around 20% chance of rainfall — as the monsoon trough shifts southward across the upper Gulf of Thailand. Daytime temperatures will hover around 31°C, with lows near 25°C, offering relatively pleasant weather for beachgoers and tourists.

The Meteorological Department urged residents in southern provinces to watch for possible flash floods and coastal inundation, while small boats in the Andaman Sea should remain ashore until November 7 due to strong waves reaching 2–3 meters high in stormy areas.

Officials also advised the public to monitor updates related to Typhoon Kalmaegi, which is moving westward across the central South China Sea and is expected to weaken after making landfall in central Vietnam between November 6–7 before dissipating over Laos and northeastern Thailand, possibly affecting Ubon Ratchathani with increased rain.
