PATTAYA, Thailand – Renewed tensions in the Middle East are sending shockwaves through global energy markets, triggering concern among motorists in eastern Thailand. In both Pattaya and neighboring Sattahip, long lines formed at petrol stations as residents rushed to fill up amid fears of possible price hikes.

Reporters observed unusually heavy traffic at several fuel stations across Pattaya, with queues stretching onto main roads at peak hours. Similar scenes were reported in Sattahip, where drivers said they preferred to top up their tanks in advance rather than risk paying higher prices later in the week.

Residents noted that some local petrol stations are typically quiet, making the sudden surge in vehicles particularly noticeable. Many motorists opted to fill their tanks completely, citing uncertainty over how the Middle East situation could affect global crude prices in the coming days.

Energy analysts caution that while geopolitical tensions can influence oil markets, retail price adjustments depend on multiple factors, including global supply levels, refining costs and domestic pricing mechanisms. Authorities have not announced any emergency measures but said they are closely monitoring developments.
