PATTAYA, Thailand – Nongprue police have intervened over a group of teenagers suspected of gathering for potentially disruptive motorcycle activities, calling in their parents, requiring written pledges and impounding motorcycles for legal checks. The operation was carried out under the direction of Pol Col Nattaphon Phongsuksakul, superintendent of Nongprue Police Station in Chonburi. Police patrol officers, led by Pol Capt Surachai Chuaykhun, from patrol units 1201 and 1202, inspected the gathering and detained those involved for further proceedings.
Police invited the teenagers’ parents or guardians to acknowledge their children’s behavior and formally warned them about the risks associated with potentially dangerous motorcycle riding and gatherings that could disturb other residents. Written pledges were also prepared as a preventive measure intended to discourage repeat offences. Motorcycles considered suspicious were impounded for inspection in accordance with legal procedures.
Police appealed to parents to take an active role in supervising their children and warning them against riding in groups in ways that could endanger themselves or other road users, or cause a public nuisance. The operation forms part of local efforts to address concerns about groups of young motorcycle riders and promote road safety and public order in the Nongprue area.
