KOH CHANG, Thailand – Authorities were alerted by rescue volunteers that a tourist, reportedly intoxicated and acting violently, had assaulted locals in front of Kacha Resort & Spa and then ran into the sea attempting to swim away from the beach on September 6.
The Koh Chang Naval Operations Unit quickly deployed personnel and safely rescued the tourist from the water at 10:32 PM. The individual was subsequently handed over to Koh Chang Police Station for legal processing.
