The Royal Thai Navy impounded two Vietnamese fishing boats found fishing illegally in the Gulf of Thailand.

The HTMS Naresuan, Patrol Boat 996 and a navy helicopter spotted the intruders about 70 nautical miles off the Chonburi coast Nov. 21.

The two 16-meter-long boats had crews of five each and holds full of squid. The boats were taken to the Sattahip Naval Base where the foreigners were arrested and charged with illegally entering Thailand and fishing within its borders.
