PATTAYA, Thailand – Residents have called for authorities to investigate road construction work continuing late into the night on Jomtien Second Road, with heavy machinery reportedly operating around midnight and into the early morning. A Facebook user, Ohm Piang, posted a video on the Pattaya warning and emergency alerts page on August 18, asking the responsible authorities to check whether the construction work is being carried out appropriately.
The post claimed that excavation and drilling, including the use of heavy machinery, continued at around midnight, 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., creating loud noise that disturbed people living in the surrounding area. The resident questioned whether such work is permitted during late-night hours and whether regulations are in place to protect residents from excessive construction noise.
The complaint has prompted calls for the relevant authorities to inspect the project, determine whether the work complies with permitted construction hours and take appropriate action if violations are found. Residents are seeking clarification on how late-night construction is regulated and whether measures can be introduced to reduce noise and disturbance during nighttime hours.
