PATTAYA, Thailand – A late-night domestic dispute fueled by jealousy left four people injured after a homemade “ping-pong bomb” detonated inside a residence in east Pattaya area early Saturday morning.

At 12:16 a.m. on January 25, rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon received reports of an explosion with multiple injuries at a house in Soi Thung Klom-Tan Man 29, Moo 14. Police from Nongprue Police Station and rescue volunteers were dispatched to the scene.

Authorities found four injured individuals. The primary suspect, identified as Christian Kwamah, 27, a Thai-Norwegian national, suffered a serious injury to his left hand from the blast. His wife, Patcharida Kwamah, 23, sustained facial injuries from shrapnel. Two others, Anuwat Chompho, 21, and Supaporn Johmoh, 21, suffered minor injuries and ringing in their ears. All were given first aid before being rushed to hospital.

The scene showed clear signs of an explosion. A marble table had shattered, nearby windows were broken, and blood stains were found on walls and floors. Police recovered fragments of a homemade explosive device believed to be a locally made “ping-pong bomb” for evidence.

According to Anuwat, the group had been drinking alcohol outside the house when Christian and his wife began arguing over jealousy issues. The suspect, who works abroad in Norway, allegedly picked up the explosive device to threaten his wife and slammed it onto the marble table, triggering the blast.

Family members and neighbors were left in shock as authorities secured the area. Police documented the scene and stated that legal proceedings will follow once all injured parties have recovered sufficiently to provide formal statements.

Officials warned that homemade explosive devices pose serious danger and can easily result in severe injuries or fatalities, even when used as threats rather than weapons.
