PATTAYA, Thailand – Two Israeli tourists were injured, one seriously, after their motorcycle lost control, crossed into an oncoming lane, and crashed into a sedan in the early hours of March 23.
Police at Pattaya City Police Station were alerted to the crash at around 1:10 a.m. on Pattaya Central Road, Soi 16, and dispatched rescue volunteers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation to assist the injured.
Debris from the collision was scattered across the roadway. A blue Honda PCX motorcycle with a Bangkok license plate was found badly damaged. The Israeli rider suffered serious injuries, including broken legs, while his Israeli passenger sustained multiple abrasions.
Rescue workers provided first aid before rushing both injured tourists to a nearby hospital.
A grey-black MG sedan with Ayutthaya registration was also found at the crash site with heavy front-end damage. The Thai driver, 38-year-old Komkrit, remained at the location and cooperated with police.
The driver told officers he had been heading toward the Pattaya Central Road intersection when the motorcycle suddenly veered across the lane and slammed into the front of his car, throwing both riders in different directions.
Witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle cross into the opposite lane before colliding with the sedan.
Police documented the damage and questioned witnesses as part of an ongoing investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
