PATTAYA, Thailand – Residents and tourists in Pattaya should prepare for several more days of unsettled weather, with thunderstorms, sudden downpours, and humid conditions expected to continue across the city and surrounding coastal areas. Weather forecasts show Pattaya entering a more unstable pattern typical of the early rainy season, with storms likely developing during the afternoon, evening, and overnight hours over the next few days.
Forecasters say the combination of lingering heat, high humidity, and moisture flowing in from the Gulf of Thailand is helping fuel repeated thunderstorm activity across eastern Thailand, including Pattaya, Jomtien, Naklua, Huay Yai, and Nongprue areas. Although long periods of sunshine are still expected between storms, residents are being warned that weather conditions may change rapidly, bringing sudden heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds, and localized flooding on low-lying roads and sois.
Beach operators and boat crews are also being advised to monitor conditions closely, as waves can quickly become rough during thunderstorms despite generally calm daytime seas. Traffic disruptions are also possible during peak evening hours, especially in flood-prone parts of Pattaya where drainage systems can struggle during short but intense tropical downpours. The latest outlook suggests thunderstorms could continue on and off for much of the coming week, while temperatures remain hot and humid, generally hovering around 31–33°C during the day.
