PATTAYA, Thailand — A Pakistani DJ was attacked by a group of around ten men believed to be local food delivery riders after one of them ordered him to stop his motorbike and accused him of “causing trouble.”

The 31-year-old victim, who works as a DJ at a local entertainment venue, said the assault occurred early Thursday morning in front of Wat Chaimongkol on South Pattaya Road, opposite Pattaya City School 8. The incident left him with bruises and swelling to his head and body.

According to the victim, he had just passed a traffic light when several men on motorcycles surrounded him, shouted at him to stop, and punched him repeatedly before kicking and beating him after he fell to the ground. “They asked if I was looking for trouble and then started hitting me,” he said.

He believes the assault may have stemmed from a minor encounter two days earlier when a food delivery rider honked at him and he simply asked, “Why are you honking?” He insists no argument followed and doesn’t know if the same rider was among the attackers.

Security camera footage reportedly shows the group ganging up on the victim, punching and kicking him repeatedly, and even using helmets as weapons, despite residents shouting for them to stop. The men then fled the scene on their motorcycles.

The victim has filed a complaint with Pattaya City Police, urging officers to track down and prosecute the attackers. He expressed fear for his safety, saying he must still use the same route to and from work.
