Her Majesty the Queen triumphantly crosses the Sanam Luang finish line alongside Eliud Kipchoge, inspiring runners from over 80 countries.

BANGKOK, Thailand –  Her Majesty the Queen of Thailand presided over the start of the “Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota, 8th Edition,” a world-class marathon event, at MBK Center in Bangkok on November 30. The race concluded at Sanam Luang under cool morning winds, attracting elite athletes, local runners, and international participants.

Among the highlights, Ethiopian and Kenyan runners claimed the overall marathon titles, while Thai athletes Natthawat Innum and Dr. Charinya Kanchanasavee posted the fastest times for Thailand. Legendary Kenyan marathoner Eliud Kipchoge also joined the event, inspiring participants from across the globe.



At the starting line, a large crowd of over 48,000 spectators—including government officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Thammanat Prompao, Minister of Tourism and Sports Atthakorn Sirilattayakorn, Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand Thapanee Kiatphaiboon, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, and Thai Sports Authority Governor Dr. Kongsak Yodmani—welcomed Her Majesty. The Queen pressed the starting horn for the full marathon (42.195 km) and encouraged participants in the half marathon (21.1 km).

Her Majesty graciously participated in the half marathon herself, completing the course in 2 hours 13 minutes 40 seconds alongside Eliud Kipchoge. Runners from more than 80 countries joined the event, with many inspired by the Queen’s example to embrace health and fitness. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and race organizers were also present to greet Her Majesty.

The morning’s cool temperature of 15°C helped runners maintain pace and achieve impressive times. Along the route, enthusiastic cheering, festive performances, and a spectacular drone tribute added to the world-class marathon atmosphere, making this year’s race one of Thailand’s most celebrated sporting events.

Her Majesty also presided over the 10 km race and presented awards to top finishers across all distances.


With unstoppable determination, Kenya’s Unis Javira Muchiri storms across the 42.195 km finish line in 2:39:27, securing the women’s overall victory.
