Foreign embassies in Thailand offer condolences after deadly Lat Phrao fire

Embassies from seven countries express condolences and support for victims of the Lat Phrao bar fire, as Bangkok authorities continue investigations and assist affected families.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Embassies of Australia, Canada, China, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, and Sweden have extended their deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic fire in the Lat Phrao area of Bangkok, and have expressed their sympathy and support for all those injured and affected. Following the fire at a bar and restaurant in Lat Phrao in the early hours of 13 July 2026, Bangkok authorities have set up an assistance and coordination center to support those affected. The Chatuchak District Office is providing information and support to the families of victims, the injured, and others impacted by the incident.



Authorities are working to identify the deceased, and all injured individuals have been transported to hospitals for medical care. As of 9.00 a.m., the fire had claimed 27 lives and injured 63 people. Police, forensic teams, and relevant agencies continue to investigate the cause of the fire and assist with victim identification.
