East Pattaya municipality delays garbage truck purchase until next year

Nongprue Municipality in East Pattaya delays the purchase of a garbage collection truck until the next fiscal budget year pending approval from the Appeal and Complaint Commission.

East Pattaya won’t be getting new garbage trucks this year after all.
Chairman Chartchai Jaitong said Sept. 26 said 2.3 million baht was allocated to buy the four-cubic-meter trucks and a vendor – Taweechok Truck and Equipment Co. – won the bidding in March.

But rival Chaophraya Leading Co. contested the bid result and filed an appeal, which was rejected with the verdict sent to the national Appeal and Complaint Commission on May 2.

Fast-forward four months, however, the commission still hasn’t forwarded the final ruling to Nongrue. It’s now too late to sign the contract before the fiscal year ends Sept. 30, Chartchai said.

The subdistrict, however, won’t lose the budget even though it wasn’t spent. The Interior Ministry gave Nongprue until March 31 to finish the procurement.
