A grieving teacher says her husband died from blocked coronary arteries hours after a hospital allegedly dismissed his symptoms as anxiety and refused to perform an ECG.

BANGKOK, Thailand – A Thai schoolteacher has taken to social media seeking justice after her husband died just hours after allegedly being turned away from a hospital without receiving an electrocardiogram (ECG), despite showing symptoms commonly associated with a heart attack.

According to her post, her husband experienced sharp pain that spread from his fingers to the left side of his chest, accompanied by profuse sweating that had persisted for about a week. She rushed him to a hospital in Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi province, on the morning of July 17.

She said he was initially referred to the internal medicine department, which reportedly requested blood and cholesterol tests. However, because he had already eaten breakfast, the tests could not be performed, and he was redirected to an orthopedic specialist, who allegedly questioned why the patient had been sent there before referring him to a general practitioner.

The teacher claims the general practitioner did not perform a physical examination or listen to her husband’s heart. She repeatedly pleaded for an ECG, even offering to pay for the test herself, but said the request was refused.

In her emotional account, she alleged the doctor dismissed her husband’s symptoms as anxiety and insulted her, claiming her husband was simply stressed because his wife was “overly anxious.” She said they were told to return home and come back for testing at a later date. Later that evening, before they could seek treatment elsewhere, her husband suddenly collapsed and died.

An autopsy later determined that the cause of death was blockage in two coronary arteries.

The grieving wife said a meeting was later held with the doctor involved, during which she claims the physician admitted to making an incorrect diagnosis. The alleged admission has intensified calls on social media for an investigation and accountability. The teacher said her husband leaves behind a wife and their 1.6-year-old son, urging authorities to ensure no other family experiences a similar tragedy.

The teacher is appealing for justice on social media after claiming her husband’s life could have been saved if his heart symptoms had been properly investigated.
